A Plymouth man and a Walkerton woman spent the night in the Marshall County Jail after officers from the Plymouth Police Department responded to a disturbance call. Officers arrived at the home in the 2400 block of Lake Ave. around midnight and arrested Elizabeth A. Keller, 24, of Walkerton, on a battery charge. Steven Cogswell, 21, of Plymouth, faces criminal confinement, intimidation with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief charges.
Officers Identified in Police-Involved Shooting Incident in Plymouth
Officials from the Indiana State Police, Bremen Post and Plymouth Police Department have released the names of the officers involved in a shooting in Plymouth. Trooper William B. Ennis and Plymouth officer Matthew Emenhiser were involved in firing shots at Lane Dodson of Plymouth Monday evening.
Trooper Ennis conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Dodson. Dodson pulled his van into the Kmart parking lot and Trooper Ennis waited for a Plymouth officer, Emnenhiser, to assist at the scene. The pair walked up to the driver’s side window to question Dodson about an alleged domestic issue that occurred earlier in the day. When Dodson was asked to step out of the vehicle, Dodson reportedly raised his gun at police and the officers fired their guns.

An officer-involved shooting last night in the parking lot of a Plymouth store resulted in serious injury to a suspect in a domestic battery case. The man, identified as Lane G. Dodson, 33, of Plymouth, allegedly raised a gun at a state trooper and a Plymouth Police Officer when asked to get out of his vehicle in the KMart parking lot. Trespassers Arrested After Fleeing from Police
A pair of Bremen break-in suspects face numerous felony charges in Marshall County after leading police from multiple agencies on a high-speed chase this morning. The caretaker of a vacant residence in the 400 block of Kenilworth Road in Bremen found a man and woman sleeping in the upstairs bedroom, went outside and called the police. She tried to block their SUV to keep them from leaving until officers arrived. She told police the man pulled a gun on her before he sped off through an adjacent field. Continue reading
Marshall County Judge Sentences Man to 20 Years on Burglary Charge
A Fort Wayne area man was sentenced to 20 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a charge of burglary.
Jeffrey Lusch, 58, admitted to Marshall County Superior Court No. 1 Judge Robert O. Bowen that broke into and entered a home on Baker Street in Plymouth on June 28, 2013 and was discovered by the homeowner. Lusch had entered the home through a window and the homeowner was in the basement at the time. The homeowner emerged from the basement and found Lusch inside the home. He then fled from the residence with the homeowner in pursuit and on the phone to police. Plymouth police officers were able to respond quickly and apprehended Lusch.
Plymouth Woman Arrested on Theft, Fraud Charges
A Plymouth woman was arrested this week after an investigation into an unauthorized use of a credit card.
The investigation started on Thursday, Oct. 9 when Plymouth Police Department officers received a call from the victim who told police that transactions in excess of $1,000 were charged to the victim’s debit/credit card in a three month period.
Kristen Hayes, 42, was questioned about the alleged transactions on Oct. 22. She was subsequently arrested on preliminary charges of credit card fraud and theft.
She was booked into the Marshall County Jail with a $1,500 cash bond.
Plymouth Business Robbed, Owner Arrested on Warrant
A burglary and robbery incident at a Plymouth business is being investigated by the Plymouth Police Department.
On Wednesday night, a report was made regarding a burglary and robbery that took place in the 1500 block of Hoham Drive in Plymouth. Hubert Dulworth, 40, told police that an unknown subject had broken into his business and then attacked him. He added that he was hit on the head and became unconscious. A large amount of cash was also reported stolen.
Dulworth was taken to the local hospital for treatment.
