‘NaloxBoxes’ to Bring 24/7 Access to Opioid Reversal Medication to Every Indiana County

Opioid overdose reversal medication will soon be available 24 hours a day in every Indiana county. Governor Holcomb announced Friday that the state is partnering with Overdose Lifeline to buy 215 “NaloxBox” units. It’s is a hard acrylic box containing six to eight doses of naloxone that can be mounted on the outside of a building. Each county will get at least one.

Hoosiers are being urged to follow through with their counties’ COVID-19 restrictions, even if community spread starts to decrease. Governor Tightening Restrictions on Social Gatherings, Directing Hospitals to Postpone Non-Emergent Procedures

Starting this weekend, event organizers will no longer be allowed to seek permission to hold events larger than the limits outlined in the state’s county metrics. That’s 50 people in counties coded orange and 25 people in counties coded red.

Governor Eric Holcomb is in quarantine, after several members of his security detail have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. A statement from the Governor’s Office Tuesday says Governor Holcomb and First Lady Janet Holcomb are considered close contacts, and State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box has advised them to quarantine.
