Reserved Turkey Hunt Permits Now Available

Starting today and running through March 22nd, hunters have the ability to apply for a reserved turkey hunt by visiting Hunting.IN.gov. To apply, click on the ‘reserved hunt info’ link that appears on that page.

No late entries will be accepted and applicants must possess a valid hunting license for the species they wish to hunt.

DNR Reports More Women Hunters

Hunting is growing in popularity among women nationwide and in Indiana, according to officials with the Department of Natural Resources. They say the number of hunting licenses sold to women increased by 93 percent from 2006 to 2014. During that same time period the number of female youth hunters skyrocketed 114 percent. DNR Hunting and Fishing Licenses Available Online

Indiana hunters and fishermen can purchase their annual licenses from retailers or through the DNR website. Annual licenses are valid from April 1 through March 31 of the next year and are available for residents and non-residents. Adopt-a-Hunter Continues Memory and Opportunity

Dollars are being accepted to host an event that helps those with mobility issues.

Through their Adopt-a-Hunter program, the Eric Corey Foundation allows those with physical challenges to get away from the recurring doctor’s visits that many live with on a daily basis. The foundation was started after the late 15-year-old, who was an avid hunter, was diagnosed with ALS.
