Start Autumn Out Right at the Annual Falloween Fest this Weekend

The annual Falloween Fest held at John Glenn High School is right around the corner.

From Friday, September 21st through Sunday, September 23rd, a number of area organizations, churches and John Glen school groups will sponsor this weekend-long event in Walkerton. Many organizations raise funds for student scholarships and over the last few years, about $250,000 has been raised to assist more than 200 students.

Event organizers describe Falloween as a family-oriented festival with a variety of activities including two parades, a midway of amusement park rides, tasty food, special music events, fireworks, craft vendors and tractor pulls as well as a petting zoo, a giant garage sale and a 5K run. Celebrate Marshall County’s History at the Yellow River Festival This Weekend

If you’re a history buff, you certainly won’t want to miss the 12th Annual Yellow River Festival this weekend! There is no cost for admission and the festival will be held today and tomorrow at River Park Square in Plymouth.

The festival celebrates Marshall County history, encompassing the years 1840 through the 1940s. It will feature re-enactments, demonstrations, storytelling, period music, dancing and kids’ games. Continue reading

Town Prepares for Taste of Culver

Culver is preparing for an annual festival that brings food and music to the downtown.

Organizers of “Taste of Culver” – sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce in Culver – requested approval of several items by the Town Council on Tuesday night. The event closes Jefferson Street one day each June to allow vendors to set-up tents.
