Time is running out to file a declaration of candidacy for the 2019 Municipal Primary Election.
All candidates interested in running must be filed at their County Clerk’s Office by noon, local time, on Friday, February 8th. No exceptions will be made.

The Indiana Department of Transportation is offer a scholarship program to civil engineering students that also includes summer and post-graduation employment opportunities.
The INDOT Scholarship program utilizes federal funds to offer up to $3,125 per semester or $2,083 per trimester for up to five years of post-secondary civil engineering education. The scholarship funds can be applied to educational expenses, fees and books. In return, recipients would work for INDOT in full-time, paid positions during summer breaks and upon graduation. The second round of grant applications is now being accepted by the Marshall County Community Foundation.
A few more candidates have thrown their names into a possible list of candidates for political office.
According to the Marshall County Clerk’s office, two Democrats have filed to run in November’s General Municipal Election. The candidates are only allowed to do so if a vacancy exists, but were facing a deadline of July 6th at noon to put their names on the ballot.
The enrollment deadline for the Healthcare Marketplace is coming up, and IU Health says they continue to provide resources for individuals.
The deadline for enrollment is February 15th. There are dozens of plans available to Hoosiers on the marketplace.
