The Culver Town Council members were made aware of a 911 call that is under investigation with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department concerning a small fire at Culver Academy with apparently no response by the Culver-Union Township Fire Department.

The Marshall County Highway Department recently completed the paving of a one mile section of the proposed walking and biking trail in the Culver Town Park and along the old railroad bed to Culver Academy.
Dual-Generational Playground Equipment Idea Presented to Culver Town Council
Three Culver Academy students presented town officials with a project idea during the last town council meeting in May.
One of the students, Alan Yang, told council members that after discussing the importance of responsible citizenship in one of their classes, the students brainstormed some ideas of ways they could assist the community.
Yang said they decided to do something at the park since that is an area that is utilized by individuals of all ages and it is one of the major focal points of town. Continue reading
Meet Culver’s New Park Superintendent Tomorrow on Opening Day for the Beach
Culver’s new Park Superintendent has been busy preparing the park and beach for the summer season.
Park Superintendent Amber Cowell attended her first town council meeting Tuesday night. In her report, she announced that the beach will be opening this Saturday. In conjunction with opening day of the beach, an open house to welcome Amber to her new position is being held at Culver Beach Lodge. Continue reading
Culver Academy Fitness Facilities Open to Culver Community Staff
Staff members of Culver Community School Corporation now have the ability to use the fitness center at Culver Academy.

Still Time to Register for 9/11 Heroes Run in Culver
The Town of Culver will be honoring the memory of victims of the World Trade Center attacks, fallen heroes and their families with a 9/11 Heroes 5K Run and 1 mile fun run/walk on Saturday, September 16. In the meanwhile, event coordinators and volunteers have been lining the course with American flags.
Walkers and runners of all different ages and abilities are asked to come out to the Culver Academy Naval Building this Saturday to show support for veterans, their families and first responders. There is still time to register online before the race but individuals also have the ability to register on-site for an additional cost. Continue reading
