More COVID-19 Deaths Reported in Starke and Marshall Counties, Starke County Moved Back to Orange Level

The COVID-19 death toll continues to increase in Starke and Marshall counties. Another two Starke County residents are confirmed to have died, according to Wednesday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the county’s total number of COVID-19 deaths up to 10. Marshall County had one more death, for a total of 29.

Gov. Holcomb Likely to Keep Mask Mandate for Foreseeable Future But Hopes to Avoid Stay-At-Home Restrictions

Hoosiers will likely be required to wear face masks for the foreseeable future, but Governor Holcomb is hesitant to reinstate stay-at-home restrictions, even as COVID-19 cases increase. During state officials’ press conference Wednesday, Indiana Department of Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lindsay Weaver noted that there are now twice as many Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID-19 than there were in late June or early July.

Another 15 Marshall County Residents Test Positive for COVID-19

Another 15 Marshall County residents have tested positive for COVID-19. That brings the county’s total up to 1,068, according to Sunday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. More than 25,000 tests have been taken on almost 12,000 Marshall County residents. Another five Starke County residents have tested positive for a total of 287.
