State Fire Marshal’s Office Assists Marshall County Sheriff’s Department With Suspicious Structure Fire Investigation
Shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Monday, March 12th, the Marshall County Dispatch Center received a call of a structure fire on 6th Road.
The 911 caller indicated that they were driving by when they observed a residence in the 11800 Block of 6th Road on fire. They further stated that it was unknown if there were any occupants inside, according to an official press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Continue reading
Driver Reportedly Falls Asleep at the Wheel, Resulting in Two-Vehicle Accident Early Tuesday Morning
Around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6th Maribel Sosa, of Bremen, was travelling eastbound on US 6 west of Douglas Road in a 2014 Honda CRV, when she reportedly fell asleep, crossed the center line and struck a 2016 International ProStar Semi driven by Jesse Manderson of Indianapolis.
According to Marshall County Police incident report, Sosa had to be cut from her vehicle by the Bremen Fire Department and she was transported to the Bremen Hospital by Lutheran EMS. Continue reading
Two Injured in Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Friday Night
Icy road conditions are being blamed for a rollover crash that left two people injured Friday night. Marshall County Police say it happened at 10:42 p.m. near 4th Road and Plymouth-Goshen Trail.
Bremen Oktoberfest is Back & Looking for Vendors and Sponsors
After being out of commission for a couple of decades, the Bremen Oktoberfest made a comeback last year for the Indiana Bicentennial. The event returns this fall and will run October 6th through the 8th. Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said this year’s festival will be chock-full of fun things to do for individuals of all ages.
Firefighters Respond to Fire at Bremen Facility
Firefighters from the Bremen Fire Department were called to a fire at the Charleston Corporation early this morning.
Fire Chief Matt Neher told MAX 98.3 FM News that emergency crews were notified of the fire after the supervisor arrived at the manufacturing facility at 3:30 a.m. today. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire within an hour.

Alcohol Cited As Possible Factor in Injury Wreck
Authorities in Marshall County believe alcohol may have been a factor in a fiery Sunday night crash. It happened around 5 p.m. in the area of 3A Road between East Shore Drive and Plymouth-Goshen Trail. The crash report indicates 28-year-old Frank T. Galos was westbound on 3A Road and struck the rear of a car driven by Michelle Shupert of Bremen. Continue reading
Area Firefighters Battle Field Fire
The Plymouth Fire Department was called to a large field fire Monday afternoon.
According to officials, a farmer was conducting a controlled burn that got out of hand on Hawthorne Road. The fire went into a bean field and the ditch. It also jumped the road into another ditch and another farmer’s field.
Plymouth firefighters arrived at the scene at 3:16 p.m. ET and asked for grass truck assistance from the Bremen and Bourbon Fire Departments. Four grass trucks, a tanker, and an engine used 1,300 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. The firefighters remained on scene for just over an hour.
