The A through F School Accountability Grades for the 2016-2017 school year were released this week by the Indiana Department of Education. Locally, Triton, as well as some Plymouth Schools showed improvement from the year before.
Pre-Kindergarten Program Coming to Argos Schools Soon
The Argos School Board met for their monthly meeting Monday evening and discussed a program that they will be offering for the first time this year. The “Lil Dragons” all-day pre-K program is set to kick off in September of this school year. Continue reading
New Argos School Superintendent to be Named Soon
A new superintendent of Argos Community Schools should be announced May 1.
The school board held a public hearing on the superintendent’s contract in March. Interviews have been conducted since that time.
Voters to Decide on Argos School Referendum
Voters in the Argos Community Schools district will decide on additional school funding today. A referendum asks voters to consider a property tax levy increase to as much as 61-cents per $100 of assessed valuation. Continue reading
Argos Referendum May Impact Other Local School Corporations
The results of today’s Argos school funding referendum could have an effect on the Culver Community Schools Corporation. Argos school officials have said that if the proposal to raise the property tax levy fails, the corporation would be forced to find ways to consolidate with other local school districts. State Board of Education Releases 2014-15 A-F Grades
School corporations in Marshall County are making the grade, according to the A through F accountability standards approved today by the State Board of Education. The scores reflect changes fast-tracked through the Indiana General Assembly to hold corporations harmless due to last year’s significant drop in ISTEP+ scores. Continue reading
