Marshall County Council Approves Community Crossings Funding Arrangements

road-stripingThe Marshall County Council made some funding arrangements Monday for the county’s Community Crossings projects, but lowered the cushion for potential cost overruns in the process. The state Community Crossings program provides a 50-50 match for road projects. Back in August, Marshall County was awarded a $1 million grant, the maximum available through the program. Plymouth Council to Consider Incentives for Pretzels Inc.

Incentives for a snack producer moving into the Marshall County Shell Building will be considered this evening by the Plymouth Common Council. Pretzels Inc. announced plans last week to spend $15 million to purchase and equip the building near Pioneer Drive and U.S. 30, creating 65 new jobs in the process.  Continue reading

Plymouth Appropriates Funds for Blueberry Festival Fireworks Upgrades

Blueberry-Logo-2012Fireworks at the Marshall County Blueberry Festival were again up for discussion during Wednesday’s special session of the Plymouth Common Council. Last month, the Common Council voted to give the festival an additional $25,000 for this year’s fireworks, after festival organizers asked the city to fund the upgrades in recognition of the Blueberry Festival’s 50th anniversary.
