AAA Urges Motorists Not to Hunt Pokémon While Driving
The AAA Hoosier Motor Club is now on the list of groups warning of the dangers of Pokémon Go. The augmented-reality gaming app allows players to use their phones to hunt characters hiding in the real world. AAA Predicts Increase in Memorial Day Travel

AAA Encourages Safe Travel This Memorial Day Weekend
Officials with the AAA Hoosier Motor Club predicts a busy travel holiday this Memorial Day weekend. They predict Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the travel period which is defined as Thursday, May 21 to Monday, May 25.
Most drivers will likely pay the lowest Memorial Day gas prices in at least five years.
According to AAA, today’s national average price is $2.66 which is $1.01 less than last year. AAA predicts most U.S. travelers will pay the cheapest Memorial Day gas prices in at least five years. Indiana’s current statewide gas price average is $2.64. Hoosiers were paying $3.71 one year ago today.
Gasoline Prices on Upward Trend
Motorists saw gasoline prices on a downward trend for several months, but for the past few days the price has increased slightly.
According to AAA Hoosier Motor Club, prices for unleaded gasoline declined a record 123 consecutive days to $2.03 a gallon. The price increased last week for the first time since Sept. 25 of last year.
The national average price of gas is $2.06 which is approximately $1.22 less per gallon than one year ago. AAA estimates that $365 million less per day is spent on gasoline nationwide. Indiana’s current statewide average price is $2.17 a gallon.
Historically Low Gas Prices Await Holiday Travelers
Hitting the road this holiday weekend will not put as big a pinch on your pocketbook. Gas prices are at their lowest level in five years, according to AAA Hoosier Motor Club. That’s good news for the 43.1 million travelers planning to drive more than 50 miles from home. That’s the highest projected travel volume since 2007. Continue reading
