Early voting turnout remains strong in Marshall County. The Clerk’s Office says more than 5,600 residents had voted in person as of Friday afternoon, and more than 2,700 mail-in ballots had been received. That amounts to more than 28 percent of the county’s registered voters.

Marshall County continues to see high early voting turnout. The Clerk’s Office says 2,225 residents had voted in person, as of Friday afternoon. Almost 2,500 mail-in ballots have been sent to Marshall County voters.

Election Day is two months away, but a number of Marshall County residents have already decided to vote absentee. Clerk Deb VanDeMark says her office has gotten almost 1,000 requests for mail-in ballots so far.

The Marshall County Election board has certified the results of last week’s primary. Clerk Deb VanDeMark says 18 mail-in ballots were rejected because they came in after the deadline, while 22 voters who’d requested absentee ballots turned them back in to vote in person.

Marshall County officials continue filing to run for reelection. Circuit Court Judge Curtis Palmer, Superior Court No. 2 Judge Dean Colvin, District 3 County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer, and county council members James Masterson, Jon VanVactor, and Penny Lukenbill have all filed on the Republican ticket. So have Coroner John Grolich, Treasurer Angie Birchmeier, and Surveyor Craig Cultice.
