Candidate Filing Continues Ahead of May Primary

Marshall County officials continue filing to run for reelection. Circuit Court Judge Curtis Palmer, Superior Court No. 2 Judge Dean Colvin, District 3 County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer, and county council members James Masterson, Jon VanVactor, and Penny Lukenbill have all filed on the Republican ticket. So have Coroner John Grolich, Treasurer Angie Birchmeier, and Surveyor Craig Cultice.

Mike Burroughs is seeking his first full term as District 2 County Commissioner. He was chosen as a mid-term replacement last October, following the resignation of Mike Delp. So far, none of the Marshall County races are contested, and no Democrats have filed.

District 17 State Representative Jack Jordan and District 9 State Senator Ryan Mishler are running for reelection on the Republican ticket. Republican District 18 State Senator Stacey Donato is running for first her full term, while Laura Fred-Smith is seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination. Republican Jackie Walorski is running for reelection for U.S. Representative, and Ellen Marks is running for the office as a Democrat.

Several candidates have also filed for precinct committee and convention delegate positions. A complete list of candidates can be found on the Indiana Secretary of State’s website.

Candidate filing for the May primary continues until February 7.
