Work to at least one sign in Plymouth welcoming visitors to the city has been completed.
The Plymouth Board of Works approved a sign to be placed in the roundabout at Michigan Road and Veteran’s Parkway earlier this year. The goal was to improve the look of the community while greeting those traveling to the area.

The new residence hall at Ancilla College is ready for the rest of the student body to move in on Friday. The Most Reverend Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese blessed the building during a ceremony yesterday in Donaldson attended by about 200 people. He says the word “Ancilla” is Latin for “handmaid.” When Mary was asked by the angel Gabriel if she would say yes to being the mother of the son of God, she answered, “I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your work.” Bishop Rhoades says that act of faith inspired the sisters of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ to found Ancilla College. A few local counties are among the 29 in which local, state and federal officials have started assessing damage from recent storms. The assessments are part of the multi-step process to determine whether Indiana qualifies for public assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to repair damage caused by severe weather and flooding between June 7th and July 29th. Such assistance reimburses government and some nonprofit agencies for eligible expenses. Locally the list of counties being evaluated includes Marshall, Fulton and Pulaski. Continue reading

Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies responded Saturday around noon to a report of a suspicious man in the area of Upas and 10B Roads who was reportedly drinking, shooting road signs with a gun and doing burn outs with his truck. Ancilla College officials will formally dedicate the first dormitory on the campus of the two-year private school during a ceremony tomorrow afternoon. President Dr. Ken Zirkle says 40 or so student-athletes have already moved in and are enjoying the amenities of the three-story building. They include a study lounge at the end of each floor and free laundry facilities on each level. There are also dedicated areas for recycling. Continue reading
