Culver Adopts Amended Water Rate Ordinance
The Culver Town Council has taken another step toward implementing an upgrade to its water treatment facility.
An amendment to an existing water rate ordinance was considered during a special meeting Monday night to help pay for the construction. This is the third increase in water rates Culver has implemented since December.

Marshall County Seeks Clarification on Bridge Inspection Contract
The Marshall County Commissioners had a few questions about a contract being signed for bridge inspections.
USI Consultants inspected the county’s bridges as part of Phase One of the contract period. Nine of Marshall County’s bridges received a score of 4 or below. That indicates they’re in poor condition.

Bremen Police Department Adds New Officer
A Bremen High School graduate is the newest member of the Bremen Police Department. Wesley Atkins also holds a bachelor of science degree from Manchester College. He served with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department from 2010 until taking the job at Bremen.

Indiana AG Urging FCC Rules Change
The Indiana Attorney General’s Office is touting new rules to constituents that could help prevent robocalls and other text messaging scams.
The rules come courtesy of the Federal Communications Commission – which has proposed allowing phone carriers to put call-blocking technologies on devices. According to information released by the Attorney General’s office, the technology exists, but current FCC rules disallow it.

Marshall County Commissioners to Consider Highway Funding
The Marshall County Commissioners will receive a quarterly report from the Emergency Management Agency at their meeting, Monday.
EMA Director Clyde Avery will be providing a monthly report to the commissioners. Recent storms in the Marshall County area coincide with the report – which will allow Avery to expand on any damages seen in Marshall County.
