Marshall County Further Pursuing Vote Center Model
Marshall County plans to further consider implementing a vote center concept during election season.
County Clerk Debbie Vandemark said the Election Board is ready to move ahead with the idea following the acquisition of electronic poll books. About 1/3 of the counties in Indiana are now using the model. Under the proposal, the polling sites in Marshall County could be used by anyone properly registered to vote and residing in the county.

Flooding Concerns Linger into New Year
Minor flooding of the Tippecanoe River near Ora is expected to occur over the weekend. A flood warning remains in effect until late Sunday night. As of 8 p.m. Wednesday the river was holding steady at 11.7 feet. That’s just below the 12 foot flood stage in that area. Continue reading

Culver Council Says Goodbyes to Retiring Members
Tuesday night marked the final meeting of their term for two members of the Culver Town Council.

Plymouth Student Chosen for All-State Jazz Band
A Plymouth student has been selected for the 2016 Indiana Junior All-State Jazz Band. Hugh Smith, an eighth-grader at Lincoln Junior High School, will be playing the trumpet when the band performs Friday, January 15 in Fort Wayne, as part of the Indiana Music Education Association’s 2016 State Conference. Donations Allow Culver Library Chance to Provide Emergency Medical Care
The Culver-Union Township Public Library is now home to a medical device that may one day save a life.
Members of the library’s fundraising arm, Friends of the Library, have been accepting donations to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator. The equipment is used as a means to restart a proper heart rhythm during cardiac arrest.
