Peggy Jean Ernsberger, 92, of Wakarusa, formerly of Bremen, passed away at 1:38 am, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Goshen Hospital. Peggy was born on November 14, 1925, the daughter of Kenneth and Lucile (Norris) Fisher. She married Eugene Ernsberger. Mark E. Wagner was the second of three sons born to Stuart and Marcia (Hetznecker) Wagner in Bremen, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father Stuart, his mother Marcia, his sons Jerome Stuart and Jeffrey John, and his father-in-law Jerome Schnurr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean (Schnurr) Wagner; his children Delia (Bruce) Gadziola and their children Emily and Ryan, Andy (Karen) Wagner and their children Katelyn and Makenzie, Tony (Betsey) Wagner and their daughter Fayth, and Jody Wagner; his brothers Jim (Rita) Wagner and Paul (Laura) Wagner, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cindy was born in Hilliard, Ohio to Bill J. and Marjorie (Meeker) Hill McCormick. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1981.

On May 10, 1986 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth, Indiana, Cindy married James P. Sherwood.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver and former member of St. Michael Church. Cindy helped with funeral dinners at St. Mary’s, and was involved with the “Women’s Connection” through Stonecroft Ministries.

John was born May 31, 1936 in Danbury, Connecticut, to the late Fred and Eva (Bowers) Smith.

He graduated from Tyner High School in 1954. John went on to serve our country in the United States Army; he was honorably discharged in 1960.

John married Winifred Gardner on December 10, 1955 in the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, North Liberty; and she survives.

Rev. Everett Dean Fager, age 70, of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was born April 6, 1947 in Redkey, Indiana to Luther V. Fager and Nola Elliott Fager, both deceased. He graduated from the Jay County High School, attended the University of Evansville and Boston University, having attained a Doctorate in Ministry.He has served the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church for many years, most recently as Pastor of the Knox United Methodist Church. Roger L. Rosebush

ARGOS – After a prolonged illness, Roger L. Rosebush peacefully passed away while surrounded by family in his home. A lifelong resident of Marshall County, Roger married the love of his life, Pamela H. Peregrine on June 11, 1961.
Roger served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Argos American Legion Post 68.
He was a proud member of I.U.O.E. Local 150 for twenty years operating heavy equipment, working primarily for Phend and Brown, Milford, Indiana. Continue reading

FORT WAYNE – Rita Kay Dodson, 68, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Plymouth, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the Shearwater Group Home in Fort Wayne. Rita’s brother; Dale Dodson, 75, of Plymouth, passed away December 28, 2017 in the Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.

Rita was born February 6, 1949 in Plymouth, to the late George and Olive (Schroeder) Dodson.
Rita at one point several years ago had worked at the Marshall-Starke Development Center for about six months.
Surviving are her siblings; Janice Dodson of Middleton, Margaret Roahrig of Plymouth, Ronald (Lynn) Dodson of Plymouth, two sisters-in-law; Betty Severson of Bourbon and Connie Dodson of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers; Robert, Keith, Ed, Walt, Glen, and Dale Dodson, and one sister; Marilyn Bartsch.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the New Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel, 1300 Chester Street, Plymouth, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM to celebrate Rita and her brother; Dale Dodson, who passed away December 28, 2017. Services will immediately begin at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Charles Krieg officiating.
Rita and Dale will be laid to rest in the Dodson family plot in the New Oak Hill Cemetery following services.
Memorial contributions may be directed to either the Marshall County 4-H Fair or to the Marshall-Starke Development Center, Inc., 1901 Pidco Drive, Plymouth, Indiana 46563.

PLYMOUTH – Mary L. Resendez, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, January 28, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 26, 1937 in Royalton, Kentucky, to the late Benjamin Franklin and Louvernie (Combs) Harper.

Mary a Plymouth resident since 1966, attended Stockbridge High School in Michigan.

On December 9, 1980 in Plymouth, Mary married Paul Resendez Jr.; and he survives.

Mary retired in 1999 from Ferro Corporation after twenty-one years of service. She was a member of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church and enjoyed listening to Christian music. She loved her family, her grandchildren and her dogs; Walter and Castro.

Frieda Mae Johnson

LAKEVILLE – Frieda Mae Johnson, 79, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Saturday, January 20, 2018.

Frieda was born in Plymouth on June 25, 1938 to Ernest F. and Inez E. (Bradley) Hattery and attended school in LaPaz.

She was the wife of Dennis Johnson for 35 years.  On June 6, 1998 in Lakeville, Frieda married Gailen E. Johnson. He would proceed her in death in 2008.

She worked for Hehr International for 32 years, and then as a cafeteria worker for LaVille Jr. High School. Frieda was a member of the Women of the Moose and the American Legion Post 27 Ladies Auxiliary in Plymouth.  Frieda loved her pet dogs and the era of ‘Disco’.

PLYMOUTH – Esther Marie Klapp, 99, of Plymouth, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Pilgrim Manor.
Esther was born April 10, 1918 in Plymouth, Indiana, Esther was the eldest of nine children of the late Elzie and Valera (Palmer) Jones.
She often spoke fondly of her growing-up years with her eight brothers and sisters and had a phenomenal memory of the past. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1936 and was an avid genealogist, a former volunteer at the Marshall County Historical Museum, and a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Esther married Charles H. Klapp on June 8, 1941 in Plymouth; he would precede her in death on June 6, 1991.
She retired in 1980 from Parkview Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. Continue reading

PLYMOUTH- Marie E. Baker, 95 died on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Hoffman Estates, IL. She was a long time resident of Plymouth before relocating to Sun City in Huntley, IL with her husband Dorland in 2005.
Born in Renville, MN on April 19, 1922, Marie was the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Balogh. She relocated with her family to Plymouth after the Second World War and on January 31, 1948, Marie was married to Dorland at St. Clements Catholic Church in Chicago. Continue reading

BREMEN- Harold L. Samuels, 64, passed away of liver cancer at 5:50 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center- Mishawaka.

Harold was born on October 3, 1953 in Plymouth, Indiana to Tommy Samuels and Dorothy O. Thomas.

In Plymouth on August 25, 1973, Harold married the former Carrie L. Peterson.

He joined the Army National Guard and was Honorably Discharged on November 8, 1978.

Harold worked for U.S. Granules for 38 years. He then most recently, before his semi-retirement on January 1, 2017, worked for the former Charleston Corporation in Bremen. Continue reading

Ruby M. Gangloff

PLYMOUTH- Ruby M. Gangloff, 80, passed away in her home at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday January 18, 2018.

Born in Vallonia, Indiana, Ruby was the daughter of Francis M. Humphrey and Virignia L. (Davidson) Humphrey-Schwein.

She graduated from Vallonia High School with the class of 1955, where she received a full academic scholarship for college. She attended Indiana State University for two years and was the 1956 Homecoming Queen.

On July 5, 1957 in Plymouth, Ruby married Jim Gangloff. He would proceed her in death on November 29, 2008.

Ruby retired after nearly 29 years of working for Nipsco as a senior customer service representative.
