79-year-old Rodney Howard, of Rochester, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018.

A memorial service will be Friday, December 14th at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Antioch Baptist Church of Walkerton. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the church.

Owen Michael Abbott

Owen Michael Abbott, 13, of Winamac, IN passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Plymouth, IN as the result of a school bus accident. Owen was born on May 2, 2005, in Winamac to Dean Abbott, Jr. and Britni Weldon.

Owen enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and playing sports. He was a member of the Pulaski County 4H and was active in the shooting sports club. He played baseball for Star City Little League and was on the All-Star team every year. Continue reading

65-year-old Ed Kean Jr. of Plymouth passed away Tuesday. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. CST at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Visitation will be on Friday, November 30 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service.

83-year-old Joan Bigora of Plymouth, formerly of Knox, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018. A memorial service will be Friday, October 26, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. CDT at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Visitation with the family will be Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Private family services will be held for 46-year-old Jeffrey M. Kelsey, of Culver. Memorial contributions may be made to the Aubbee Library. The Odom Funeral Home in Culver is in charge of arrangements.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held for 61-year-old Connie Sue Burkett, of Culver. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a local pet shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

94-year-old Leigh Roy Hahn Sr. of Plymouth, formerly of Walkerton, passed away Sunday, July 29. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. EDT at the Walkerton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EDT and Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Walkerton United Methodist Church or the Hospice Foundation.

Lawrence “Doboy” Joseph Kriss

Lawrence “Doboy” Joseph Kriss, of Plymouth, passed away early Saturday morning, July 14, 2018 in his residence in Plymouth.
He was born in Knox, Indiana on December 11, 1954 to Joseph and Marcella (Sramek) Kriss.

Larry is a 1972 graduate of NJSP High School. He attended the American Institute of Baking International, Manhattan, KS and Business Management at Ancilla College, Donaldson.

Larry was a loving husband to Gwendolyn “Gwen” Anliker, who he married on September 7, 1985 in the Medaryville Christian Church, Medaryville, Indiana. He worked for many years at Fingerhut Bakery in North Judson and Plymouth, Jarosch Bakery in Elk Grove, Illinois, Bunny Bakery in LaPorte, and Martin’s Bakery in South Bend. From there he worked in the deli and sporting goods at Wal-Mart here in Plymouth. Continue reading

Peggy Jean Ernsberger, 92, of Wakarusa, formerly of Bremen, passed away at 1:38 am, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Goshen Hospital. Peggy was born on November 14, 1925, the daughter of Kenneth and Lucile (Norris) Fisher. She married Eugene Ernsberger. Mark E. Wagner February 20, 1950 – February 7, 2018

Mark E. Wagner was the second of three sons born to Stuart and Marcia (Hetznecker) Wagner in Bremen, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father Stuart, his mother Marcia, his sons Jerome Stuart and Jeffrey John, and his father-in-law Jerome Schnurr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean (Schnurr) Wagner; his children Delia (Bruce) Gadziola and their children Emily and Ryan, Andy (Karen) Wagner and their children Katelyn and Makenzie, Tony (Betsey) Wagner and their daughter Fayth, and Jody Wagner; his brothers Jim (Rita) Wagner and Paul (Laura) Wagner, and numerous nieces and nephews.

CULVER- Cindy L. Sherwood, 55, passed away in her home at 10:59 a.m. on Monday February 5, 2018.

Cindy was born in Hilliard, Ohio to Bill J. and Marjorie (Meeker) Hill McCormick. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1981.

On May 10, 1986 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth, Indiana, Cindy married James P. Sherwood.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver and former member of St. Michael Church. Cindy helped with funeral dinners at St. Mary’s, and was involved with the “Women’s Connection” through Stonecroft Ministries.

LAKEVILLE – John R. Smith, 81, formerly of LaPaz, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Mary B Home in Lakeville.

John was born May 31, 1936 in Danbury, Connecticut, to the late Fred and Eva (Bowers) Smith.

He graduated from Tyner High School in 1954. John went on to serve our country in the United States Army; he was honorably discharged in 1960.

John married Winifred Gardner on December 10, 1955 in the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, North Liberty; and she survives.

Rev. Everett Dean Fager, age 70, of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was born April 6, 1947 in Redkey, Indiana to Luther V. Fager and Nola Elliott Fager, both deceased. He graduated from the Jay County High School, attended the University of Evansville and Boston University, having attained a Doctorate in Ministry.He has served the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church for many years, most recently as Pastor of the Knox United Methodist Church. Roger L. Rosebush

ARGOS – After a prolonged illness, Roger L. Rosebush peacefully passed away while surrounded by family in his home. A lifelong resident of Marshall County, Roger married the love of his life, Pamela H. Peregrine on June 11, 1961.
Roger served in the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Argos American Legion Post 68.
He was a proud member of I.U.O.E. Local 150 for twenty years operating heavy equipment, working primarily for Phend and Brown, Milford, Indiana. Continue reading
