Gary L. Minix III, 31, of Rochester, passed away at 12:33 PM on October 8, 2021 at his residence.
On August 3, 1990, Gary Lee was born in Plymouth to Gary L. Jr and Tabitha Little Minix. Growing up he shared his childhood with four siblings. Gary was a member of the Tippecanoe Valley High School class of 2008.
As a truck mechanic, Gary worked for Galbreath LLC of Winamac for the past four years customizing trucks from electrical to engine work. At home he enjoyed tinkering in his garage on his truck or friend’s vehicles.
A true American sportsman, Gary loved the outdoors. He hunted deer, duck and turkey. For several summers it was an annual event to travel to Ohio’s Maumee River near Lake Erie. They shared family time making memories fishing for walleye on the weekends with three generations. Back in Indiana he and Tyler fished for mammoth catfish. Most important to Gary was being with his family and playing with his kids were times he greatly treasured.
Left to cherish Gary’s memory are his fiancé, Kayla Nicole Shultz; mother Tabitha Minix of Rochester; father and step mother, Gary L. Minix Jr and wife Terra of Culver; four children: Hayden Lee Hardel, Calvin James Minix, Cameron Kane Minix, Kami Lynn Eaton; four siblings: Tyler Minix of Silver Lake, Katelinn Gagnon of Rochester, Allison Minix of Knox, Devin Minix of Culver; paternal grandparents, Gary Lee Minix Sr and Bonnie Mae; and numerous aunts uncles and cousins.
Preceding Gary in death are his maternal grandparents, Jim L. Little and Sue A. Miller.
A celebration of the life of Gary Lee Minix III will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St. Rochester. Pastor Terry Metheny will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 PM on Monday, October 18th and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
