The Culver Town Council may have to go back to the drawing board for work to the Town Hall’s Roof.
The Town accepted bids to upgrade the roof at the Town Hall as well as a second building. Work to the Town Hall was stopped, however, because the bid did not include the price of labor.

The Culver Park Department is gearing up for new activities available on the water this summer.
The Town entered into an agreement earlier this year to provide Kayak and Paddleboard rentals for the season. After going through a bid process, Sail22 has been able to provide the equipment needed to participate.

An April burglary in Marshall County has led to an arrest.
According to information released from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, the burglary occurred on April 6th in the 16-thousand block of Mill Pond Trail.
The Town of Culver has named their new EMS Director.
During last night’s Culver Town Council meeting, it was learned an offer had been extended for the position and accepted. Local paramedic Kathy Hart was named the new Culver EMS Director.

The software isn’t in use just yet, but a few area counties have spent nearly $200-thousand to better assess real estate and personal property values.
“XSoft” software is currently used by 43 Indiana counties as well as the state Department of Local Government Finance. Marshall County gave approval to use the software in May hoping the new platform will streamline productivity.

Plymouth residents for the most part are heeding warnings from the city’s code enforcement officer to keep their grass cut. Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt says the city has already mowed a dozen or so lawns. When they do, the property owner is charged $35 per hour, with a minimum of two hours billed. The Triton School Board agreed to the purchase of several items to continue updating and renovating its buildings.
A bond was issued, generating $1.5-million in revenue for the school corporation to use on the projects. The money has so far been used to develop of a new maintenance building and provide new carpeting in the schools.

The Marshall County Council has decided to give the go ahead for a project that could bring millions to the region.
In conjunction with Michiana Partnership, the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation advised the creation of a Regional Development Authority. The RDA would be formed along with St. Joseph and Elkhart counties in the pursuit of state grant funds.

The Culver Town Council will be further discussing its water plant project during a meeting, tonight.
The Town Council has been working for some time on the upgrades to its water treatment facility, but is still under deadline for funding options. Facility upgrades are going to be largely funded from bonds issued to the state’s revolving fund.
Indiana’s Senate Democrats are gearing up for the 2015 summer study committees.
Among the topics is replacing ISTEP with a new state standardized educational assessment. Typically the summer study sessions indicate some of the top issues legislators may consider in the next legislative session.

Formerly the School Resource Officer, Ted Brown is replacing Jim Phillips who served as Director of Safety and Security for the past two years. A South Bend man was transported to the hospital after allegedly crashing his vehicle in Marshall County.
Authorities say the incident happened on Fir Road just north of 7th Road on Sunday morning. 29-year-old Brandon Clay was traveling Southbound when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway.
A Michigan man was taken into custody on Sunday night after police say he was driving while intoxicated.
Around 11:45 p.m. on U.S. 30 in Marshall County, officers observed a vehicle traveling westbound in excess of 90 miles per hour. A traffic stop was conducted near the Grovertown Truckstop.

The Marshall County Council will have the final say on whether major grant funds are able to be brought to the area.
During Monday morning’s meeting, the Council will consider forming a Regional Development Authority. The partnership would be formed in conjunction with St. Joseph and Elkhart counties.
