
An Elkhart man accused of breaking into several homes in the Lake of the Woods area was sentenced this week in Marshall Superior Court. Eric Pfishner pleaded guilty to the string of burglaries. A group of volunteers in Culver is planning to make children’s lives a little better by making blankets. It’s part of Project Linus, which uses handmade blankets to provide a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.

The Culver School Board got an update Monday on some of the projects being undertaken with the proceeds from the corporation’s recent bond refunding. It gave the corporation just under a million dollars to be used on capital projects.

A single-vehicle crash claims a life. It happened around 8:30 last night at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Quince Road in Marshall County.
The Culver Community Schools Corporation’s path to selling the Monterey School Building has suddenly gotten a bit easier. Last month, school corporation attorney Jeff Houin told the school board the building would have to be registered with the Indiana Department of Education, which would place it on a statewide list of unused buildings. The idea there is to give potential charter schools a chance to lease the building.
