There are more than 6,000 lives lost annually waiting for a transplants due to the lack of tissue and organ donations. High Temperature Tips
After an exceptionally stormy summer so far, Indiana will receive a blast of hot summer air this weekend. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will reach at least 90 degrees across most of the state. Combined with high humidity, the heat index in some areas will reach more than 100 degrees. Prolonged exposure to these conditions can lead to heat illnesses like heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Auction Scheduled for Braun Mansion
Pulaski County’s largest and most expensive home could soon have a new owner. The Braun Mansion will be sold at auction in New York on Aug. 6th. It was built in 1998 for Braun Corporation founder Ralph Braun, who died in February of 2013. The home sits on a 40 acre property just south of Winamac and features nearly 16,000 feet of living space, with a garage serviced by a trusted garage door company in Vancouver, WA. Culver Specifies Ordinance Dealing with Lawncare
Residents of the Town of Culver are now expected to keep their grass trimmed to eight inches or fewer.

Plymouth Superintendent Recovering Following Readmission to Hospital
Plymouth Schools Superintendent Dan Tyree was released from the hospital on Sunday.
Complications from a kidney transplant surgery led Tyree to be readmitted to an Indianapolis hospital last week. According to information released by the school corporation, Tyree is now recovering at home prior to students returning to class.
Michiana Partnership Says Regional Cities Project List Not Further Reduced
The project list has been limited to 18, but the Michiana Partnership says projects included on the current grant application have not changed for several weeks.
The Michiana Partnership has worked with County and City officials regarding the Regional Cities Initiative. It’s a $42-million grant operated by the state with the aim of attracting and retaining population.

Culver Considers Changes to Permit and Fee Process Following County Recommendations
Culver could soon change the way it charges for building inspections.
A special work session meeting was held to navigate a problem the Marshall County Commissioners have with the inspection process. Currently, a flat fee of $50 is being charged, but is not repaid if multiple inspections are required.

Marshall County Highway Department Shows Savings Through Technology
The Marshall County Highway Department was able to show a cost savings when it comes to road repairs and maintenance.
During Monday morning’s Marshall County Council meeting, Highway Superintendent Jason Peters provided comparables with the amount of patch and materials used. Marshall County agreed to the purchase of a PUG Mill this year. The machine is used for mixing materials in the production of road patch.
