Prosecutors Call Witnesses to Start Murder Trial
The trial of Alberto Cruz started with jury selection on Monday in St. Joseph County.
He’s the man accused in the murder of Alma Del Real. She was reported missing last year, prompting large community outreach to find her whereabouts. Del Real was located near the Culver Academies campus several weeks later.
Commissioners Approve Contract for Health Department Design Work
Plans are now progressing for an eventual move of the Marshall County Health Department.
The idea has been discussed for a few years, but received approval by the Marshall County Council last week. During Monday morning’s County Commissioners meeting, a contract was presented that will lead to preliminary design and construction documents for the move.
