Stolen Tractor Recovered, Walkerton Man Arrested for Drunk Driving

A report of a stolen tractor resulted in the Sunday morning arrest of a Walkerton man on drunk driving charges. A resident in the 20,000 block of 8th Road called 911 in Marshall County around 8:15 a.m. to report a tractor with a sprayer attached had just been stolen. The caller advised it was last seen heading eastbound on 8th Road towards Donaldson. Continue reading

Stay Safe while Celebrating Super Bowl

Police around Indiana are reminding Hoosiers not to drink and drive over the Super Bowl weekend. Several local law enforcement agencies, including the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, are teaming up with the Governor’s Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to help prevent accidents and deaths resulting from impaired driving. Rees Theater Plans Discussed

The Rees Theater in Downtown Plymouth may become a multi-use event space in the coming years. Randy Danielson and a growing committee of volunteers have been working with the Wythougan Valley Preservation Council on a renovation plan. Two Arrested, Following Bi-County Crime Spree

Two arrests have been made in connection with a series of armed robberies and other crimes in LaPorte and St. Joseph Counties, according to the information given by officials and Roanoke criminal justice law firm. According to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Timothy E. Bennitt and 32-year-old Nathan D. Kellogg are being held in the LaPorte County Jail after being linked to a series of crimes since early January. Continue reading

State Health Officials Discuss Heart Disease Prevention

February is American Heart Month, and the Indiana State Department of Health is asking Hoosiers to help raise awareness of overall heart health.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women nationwide. In 2014, almost 14,000 Indiana residents died from heart disease, accounting for more than one in every five deaths. American Heart Month is an opportunity for Indiana residents to learn more about the disease and it can be prevented. Continue reading
