The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Board members will meet tonight where they will have updates on the Mill Pond Multi-Use Trail, Memorial Forest, and the canoe/kayak launch project, among other project updates.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb made a stop in Culver Tuesday to applaud the achievements of Culver Elementary’s fourth-grade class in the “You and Me Vape Free” campaign. Indiana State Health Commissioner Lindsay Weaver joined Holcomb for the event.

On the morning of Nov. 29, at approximately 5 a.m. ET, a traffic stop was conducted on Michigan and Pierce Street after a vehicle was traveling without any headlights.
On Nov. 26 at 11:45 a.m. ET, officers with the Plymouth Police Department were informed that Catherine Barnhart, 30, of Plymouth, may have an active arrest warrant.
On the morning of Nov. 30, at 12:10 a.m., Plymouth Police Department officers were called to a residence on North Plum Street for the report of a possible residential entry.
Average gasoline prices in Indiana have risen 14.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.04/g, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,271 stations in Indiana. Prices in Indiana are 2.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 1 cent per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 1.1 cents in the last week and stands at $3.514 per gallon.

The Plymouth Plan Commission will meet tonight where they will discuss a property at 13180 Queen Road in Plymouth that is a minor subdivision zoned R-2 in a Suburban Residential District.
On Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of US 30 and Iris Road.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old Kevin Chan. Kevin was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail for reckless driving.

PLYMOUTH — On the morning of Nov. 27, at 3:37 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle traveling 83 miles per hour in a posted 50 miles per hour.
The driver was identified as Richard Tavarez-Matta, 27 of Randleman, NC. During the investigation, it was determined that Tavarez-Matta had never been issued a license and was in possession of suspected marijuana Tavarez-Matta was also found to be impaired and was transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was lodged pending criminal charges for operating a vehicle while intoxicated-controlled substances, operating a vehicle while intoxicated-endangering, possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
On Nov. 26, at 1:30 p.m., a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of US 30 and Michigan Road.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 49-year-old Jose Ayala. Jose was found to be driving without ever obtaining a license. Jose was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license.

CONCORD, NH – On Nov. 26, the Concord Police Department arrested Austin Holton, age 29 from Concord, NH following a multi-month, multi-jurisdictional investigation.
In July the Concord Police Department was notified by Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Detective Les McFarland about a person believed to be in Concord, NH who had utilized online services to entice and solicit explicit content from juvenile females. A second complaint was made to Concord PD around the same time involving a similar allegation. A search warrant was executed, which led to the discovery of an additional juvenile victim in Belgrade, Montana. With the assistance of the Belgrade, Montana Police Department, the victim was located and interviewed.
As a result of the investigation, probable cause was established and an arrest warrant was issued charging Holton with seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse images, two counts of criminal solicitation for the manufacture of child sexual abuse images, and two counts of certain uses of computer services prohibited.
Holton was transported to the Concord Police Department where he was processed without incident. Holton refused the services of a bail commissioner and was transported to the Merrimack County House of Corrections. Holton is scheduled to be arraigned in the Concord District Court on November 27.
The Concord Police Department was also assisted in this investigation by the NH Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. BREMEN — On Nov. 24 at 6:43 a.m., Marshall County Deputies were called to West Shore Apartment in Bremen for a domestic fight in progress.
Deputies arrived on the scene, finding a woman that had been battered. There were also three small children present, all living in poor conditions. The man was identified as Michael Carver of Bremen. Carver refused to take orders from the deputies and was placed into custody. There were also THC vape cartridges located on Carver. EMS was called to the scene due to injuries sustained. Carver was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail. A probable cause affidavit was filled out and signed by a judge and read to Carver, charging him with domestic battery, domestic battery in the presence of a child under 16, domestic battery causing injury, domestic battery with a deadly weapon, strangulation, neglect of a dependent, resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a cour to law.
