Those infected with COVID-19 at the Tyson meatpacking plant in Logansport are generally doing well, according to State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box. “Fortunately, the average age of those individuals was 40 or 42 – I can’t remember – so most of those individuals have done extremely well,” Box said during state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Monday.

Indiana Supreme Court Denies Governor’s Request for Clarification on Attorney General’s Office

The Indiana Supreme Court has denied a request for clarification from Governor Eric Holcomb on the suspension of the attorney general’s law license. Curtis Hill is suspended from practicing law starting today, with automatic reinstatement in 30 days. The governor’s legal team wanted to know if that meant Hill was no longer qualified to serve as attorney general under state statute, creating a vacancy in the office.

Indiana Distributing PPE for Poll Workers, Preparing for Large Number of Mail-In Ballots

Indiana’s primary election is coming up on June 2, and the state continues working to safely hold an election during a global pandemic. During state officials’ COVID-19 press conference Friday, Secretary of State Connie Lawson said her office has used federal CARES Act money to get personal protective equipment for poll workers and election staff in all 92 counties.
