Funeral Services Scheduled for Teenage Crash Victims

Funeral arrangements are set for the two teenagers killed Monday in a multiple-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.

Investigators there say a 2004 Mitsubishi driven by 17-year-old Kirsten Ganshorn of Walkerton was passing a 2011 Ford F150 and clipped it. The impact sent both vehicles into the median. The pickup truck driver steered back onto the roadway, but Ganshorn’s car spun out, crossed the median backwards and hit the front of a 2007 Chevrolet flatbed truck. Continue reading

Get a storm preparedness kit together before inclement weather strikes. It should include essential medicines, nonperishable food, water, flashlights, a fully-charged cell phone, portable radio and extra batteries. Fair officials have announced the first five of 17 shows that will be part of the Chevrolet Silverado Free Stage headline entertainment during the fair, which runs Aug. 4-20, 2017. Appeals Court Upholds Marshall County Murder Sentence

The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld the sentence of the Plymouth man accused of beating his girlfriend’s toddler to death with a hairbrush after she wet the bed in their motel room. Shane Weedling received the maximum 65-year sentence for murder in connection with Serenity Wilson’s 25-year death after pleading guilty. His sentence was left to the discretion of Marshall Superior Court Judge Robert O. Bowen. Continue reading
