Argos Summer Kickoff Festival Starts Tomorrow!

The Argos Summer Kickoff Festival is nearly here! It’s scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Argos Town Park.

The festivities will begin tomorrow at 5 p.m. when the park opens to the public. At that time vendors will be ready to serve citizens and the bounce house city will be open.

Pageant registration will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with the pageant starting at 6 p.m. on the Center Stage. Various other acts will also grace the Center Stage intermittently on both days. Continue reading

Five-Month Long Run for the Fallen Pays Tribute to Nearly 20,000 Service Members

America’s Run for the Fallen aims to commemorate the brave heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice by “blazing a tribute trail across our nation”.

The run individually recognizes nearly 20,000 Service Members who have fallen since the USS Cole bombing in October of 2000.

It spans across 6,000 miles, over 19 states in 5 months. Starting in Fort Irwin, California, it began on April 7th and it will come to a close in the Arlington National Cemetery on August 5th. Continue reading

INDOT Closes Section of State Road 17 For Chip and Sealing Operations

Starting today, Culver residents and commuters should be prepared for an ongoing road closure on State Road 17.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that State Road 17 in Marshall County will be closed between State Road 8 and State Road 10 as crews perform chip sealing operations. The work will begin today and that section of road is expected to reopen by the end of the day on Friday, June 22. Continue reading

Three Individuals Arrested in LaPaz After Investigation Reveals Illegal Drug Activity

Three people were arrested in LaPaz on Tuesday, after an investigation revealed illegal drug activity at a home in the 200 block of Michigan Street in LaPaz.

On June 12 at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers from the LaPaz Police Department, the Marshall County Drug Task Force, the Indiana State Police and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department as well as troopers from the Indiana State Police executed a search warrant for a home located at 210 South Michigan Street. Parents Can Learn More About the Triton Pre-School Program Next Week

This coming Thursday, Marshall County parents are invited to attend an informational meeting about the Triton Elementary School Pre-School Program.

The Parent Information Night will be held June 21st at 6:30 p.m. in the Triton Elementary School cafeteria.

Replacement for Marshall County Plan Director Found

An offer of employment has been extended to Ty Adley, who is scheduled to take over for Marshall County Plan Director Ralph Booker once he retires.

At last Monday’s Marshall County Commissioners’ meeting, Commissioner Mike Delp noted that as long as Adley passes the background check and the preliminary steps involved in the hiring process, he will officially replace Booker on July 1st. Continue reading

Argos Town Council Enters into Agreement with Red Door Marketing

Argos officials entered into an agreement this week that will help them make the public more aware of the Town’s existing amenities and recent developments.

With the recent completion of the Manufacturing Center and the possibility of new housing being developed on 12 empty lots by the end of 2019, officials are looking to get the word out about the growing possibilities.
