PLYMOUTH — On Aug. 7, 2026, at 9:43 p.m., Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle whose registered owner was suspended.
The vehicle was a yellow Mustang and was slow to stop. While the Officer was calling out the traffic stop and plate, the driver, later identified as Joseph Fansler, 25 years old, of Lakeville, Indiana, got out of the driver’s seat and took off running.
The Officer chased after him and, with the assistance of a bystander who was waiting in the Dairy Queen drive-through with his family, saw the officer chasing Fansler and helped the officer get him placed under arrest.
Fansler was arrested for resisting arrest, driving while suspended prior, and 3 different warrants: one from Saint Joseph County, Starke County, and Fulton County. Fansler was given a court date and bond.
Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
