PLYMOUTH – In the latest in the local debate on the use of FLOCK cameras in Marshall County, Commissioner Jesse Bohannon
asked for the board to review the contract for the use of the devices.
Flock cameras are motion-activated automatic license plate reader (ALPR) cameras made by Flock Safety that capture vehicle details, log specific characteristics, and feed data into searchable police networks. Over 120,000 such devices operate across the United States.
County Attorney Sean Surrisi told the Commissioners that he had recently reviewed the contract and that it was a three-year contract that had been renewed a year ago. Later in the discussion, Commissioner Adam Faulstich said that he had recently reviewed the contract as well and thought that it also had automatic renewal.
Bohannon asked Surrisi to report to the Commissioners at their next meeting on his findings.
