PLYMOUTH — Monday night at the Plymouth Common Council meeting, Heartland Artists opened bids for work to be done in
making over the group’s home on Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth.
The money for the work will come from a READI 2.0 grant and not from city coffers, but rules of the grant state that the bids have to be opened in a government meeting.
There were two bids for the work that also had four alternates.
Base bid number one was from Ziolkowski Construction for $1.398 million. Alternate number one was for restoring windows at the back of the structure, which Ziolkowski bid at no cost. Number two was to excavate and redo the drainage in the passageway between the Heartland building and the adjoining building to the south at just over $8000. Number three: adding one new window in the rear of the building at just under $16,000, and number four: instead of just repairing the damaged masonry on the back of the building, completely redoing the tuckpointing at the back of the building at $68,000.
The second bid was from Brown and Brown with a base of $935,500. For alternate number one, an additional $133,800; on alternate one, $133,800; on two, $15,000, three at $9600 and four at $37,000.
The bids were taken under advisement for review.
