PLYMOUTH — On Oct. 1 at 4:25 p.m., Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose license plates were found to be false and fictitious.
The vehicle pulled over on Council Dr and Western Ave. During the stop, there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. K9 Officer Vinson and his partner Castor arrived on scene and did a free air sniff, and Castor alerted on the vehicle for possible narcotics. A vehicle search was done, and there were 28 grams of marijuana located in the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Amber Pittman, 41 years old, of Knox. Pittman also advised that she didn’t have insurance on the vehicle. Pittman was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and driving with no insurance, with a prior conviction. The vehicle was impounded and towed by Lyons Towing. She was transported to Marshall County Jail.
Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
