Unlawful handgun arrest

On May 19,​ at 2 p.m., a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy conducted a
traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of US 31 and 11th Road.


The driver, 21- 21-year-old Promize Johnson, was found to have an Indiana Driver’s License with the status of Suspended with a Prior Conviction. During the traffic stop,​ a handgun suspected of being ​unlawfully possessed was located in the vehicle. ​
Johnson was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Unlawful Carrying ​of a Handgun – Class A Misdemeanor and ​Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction – Class A Misdemeanor.

Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
