Gov. Braun, INDOT award more than $200 million in Community Crossings Matching Grants

Gov. Mike Braun and the Indiana Department of Transportation announced the award of more than $200 million in Community Crossings matching grants for local road and bridge projects across 245 Indiana cities, towns, and counties.

Receiving awards locally were:
Bourbon — $45,367.92
Bremen — $456,656.25
Culver — $1,011,810.75
Knox — $113,325.00
Marshall County — $1,500,000.00
Pulaski County — $994,531.20
Starke County — $601,343.26
Walkerton — $1,075,774.50
Winamac — $547,498.55

Communities submitted applications for funding during a highly competitive call for projects in January. Funding for Community Crossings comes from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund. Community Crossings has provided more than $2 billion for local road improvement projects since its inception in 2016.

State legislators identified long-term funding for Community Crossings as part of House Enrolled Act 1002, passed in 2017.
