On the morning of March 6, at 3:20 a.m. ET, Plymouth Police Department officers were dispatched to the Economy Inn (2535 N. Michigan St.) for reports of a man who was arguing with and then cut by his girlfriend.
Police say the man, 45-year-old Zachary Bau, and the woman, 37-year-old Monica Peters, were found to have been in a physical domestic altercation and were taken into custody. Each was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. A search warrant was obtained for their hotel room, and suspected methamphetamine was located, according to the report.
Bau and Peters were both lodged at the Marshall County Jail on preliminary criminal charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, domestic battery, misdemeanor false reporting, and possession of marijuana.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
