The Marshall County Commissioners opened bids this week for the replacement of a truck for the County Building and Grounds Department.
President of the Commissioners Stan Klotz opened the bids for the 3/4 ton pickup; one from Country Auto with a base price of $44,640 that included undercoating, Oliver Ford for $46,433 that had an additional package of undercoating, strobe lights, and an electrical outlet in the bed and cab installed at the factory for an additional $1,202, and a third bid from Bozak Auto Group for an electric vehicle for $45,496.
Billy Schoof, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds stated that the outlet in the bed of the truck was essential for the work it would be doing. The other two bids did not include that item. Schoof advised that the Commissioners accept the bid from Oliver Ford for that reason.
The Commissioners awarded the bid to Oliver unanimously.
