
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel recently released the department statistics and jail statistics for January.
The top offenses for the month include failure to appear, operating while intoxicated, domestic battery,
operator never licensed, driving while suspended, possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine/narcotic drug, public intoxication, and resisting law enforcement.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department had 63 arrests, Plymouth Police Department had 44 arrests, Indiana State Police had 10 arrests, Bremen Police Department had 5 arrests, Argos Police Department had 3 arrests, Bourbon Police Department had 2 arrests, and Marshall County Community Corrections had 1 arrest.
There were 96 accidents in January, 51 warning/citations issued, 14 security checks, and 58 case reports.
The 911 Central Dispatch received a total of 3,806 calls in January with 986 of those calls to 911. There were 977 service calls for the Sheriff’s Department.
The jail population on February 18 was 127. The average January jail population was 115.
There are 1,309 active warrants in the county.
