On Jan. 17, at 11:58 p.m. ET, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy was requested to respond to the area of Plymouth-Laporte Trail and Rose Road about a suspicious person and vehicle.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department also arrived at the scene. Police found that the suspicious person was identified as 43-year-old Joseph Cummins. Marshall County K-9 Diesel conducted an open-air sniff around the vehicle and, in doing so, reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotic odors inside the vehicle. A search was conducted. Police say suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.
Cummins was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, and possession of paraphernalia. An Order Finding Probable Cause was signed, and Cummins was issued a $10,000 bond.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Plymouth Police Department.
Suspects are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
