
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel recently released the department statistics and jail statistics for December 2024.
The top offenses for the month include failure to appear, operating while intoxicated, operator never licensed, possession of marijuana, driving while suspended, domestic battery, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of cocaine/narcotic drug, and resisting law enforcement.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department had 60 arrests, Plymouth Police Department had 39 arrests, Indiana State Police had 10 arrests, Argos Police Department had 3 arrests, Culver Police Department had 3 arrests,Marshall County Community Corrections had 2 arrests, Bourbon Police Department had 2 arrests, and Bremen Police Department had 1 arrest.
There were 109 accidents in December, 102 warning/citations issued, 22 security checks, and 61 case reports.
The 911 Central Dispatch received a total of 3,756 calls in December with 1,163 of those calls to 911. There were 1,217 service calls for the Sheriff’s Department.
The jail population on January 17 was 125. The average December 2024 jail population was 120.
There are 1,272 active warrants in the county.
