The Bremen Town Council members reorganized when they met at the end of 2024.
Michael Leman was retained as Council President and Bill Daily was retained as Vice President. All department heads were retained which include Nate Lockwood a Cemetery Sexton, Ben Wright as Electric Department Superintendent, Henry Arroyo as Water Department Superintendent, Brad Kile as Police Chief, Brian Main as Park Department Superintendent, Matt Neher as Fire Chief, Matt Cunningham as Wastewater and Storm Water Department Superintendent, and Austin Langdon as Street Department Superintendent.
During the council’s first meeting of 2025, they welcomed the fifth council member David H. Bailey and Clerk-Treasurer Meghan Atkins. Atkins was chosen by a Marshall County Republican Caucus to complete the term of Janet Anglemyer who recently retired. Bailey was chosen by the council members to fill the fifth seat created after the Bremen voters agreed to add a fifth member to the council by a majority vote in the November General Election.
Town Attorney Anthony Wagner opened bids for the Community Crossings project that was awarded funds in the 2024-2 call for projects. The project includes the full depth reconstruction of Grant Street from Bowen Avenue to Marshall Street including water main replacement, new storm sewer, hot mix asphalt pavement, concrete curbs, sidewalks, curb ramps, pedestrian table, pavement markings, signage and lighting.
HRP Construction, Inc. submitted a total bid of $1,677,000, Milestone Contractors submitted a total bid of $1,736,810, and Phend and Brown submitted a total bid of $2,022,008.50. The bids were taken advisement for further discussion during the council’s next meeting January 27.
