Marshall County Commissioners Approve Agreements

The Marshall County Commissioners were approached by several county departments about contracts for outside vendors for services that will streamline their offices.

Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel came before the Commissioners to request the approval of a contract with a company called Extra Duty Solutions. Hassel told the Commissioners that many of his off-duty officers are approached by outside agencies that need security or other law enforcement duties for special events or situations. He said the company would manage those situations for the department.

The sheriff explained the company would take care of scheduling the off-duty assignments, take payment on the officer’s behalf, and issue it in a payroll-type arrangement with corresponding tax documents.

He said the big benefit was that the company would also provide $1 million in liability insurance for the department for such off-duty assignments, which is something that the county does not currently have.

The payroll department asked to approve an agreement with HR Logistics for services that could track and check all unemployment claims for the department.

Treasurer Kelly Einspahr asked the Commissioners to approve a software program with XSoft that would allow them to eliminate errors in the current system and also allow them to have daily funds and cash balances.

The Commissioners gave approval for all the services.
