Marshall County ARPA Funds to be Distributed

The Marshall County Commissioners approved several agreements for the distribution of the remaining federal funds from the American Recovery Plan.

The funds have a deadline for distribution by the end of the year or the money would have to be returned to the federal government.

The Commissioners approved agreements with all six of the food banks in the county each receiving $12,500. A pair of food banks will use the funds for new freezers as well as the purchase of food items.

The Commissioners also approved four fire departments to receive funds to purchase equipment. Argos, Bourbon, and Tippecanoe will each receive $50,000, with the balance to be given to Polk Township.

The county will deal directly with the vendors for the purchases of the fire equipment and freezers, and the food banks will provide receipts for their food purchases.

The Commissioners voted unanimously to make the recommendation to the County Council for their approval.
