The Argos Community School Board members approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Teachers Association Monday night, according to Superintendent Ned Speicher.
“All teachers would receive for, 2024-2025, a $4,000 pay increase,” explained Speicher. “So, a $4,000 pay increase for all of our Certified teachers and a $5,000 pay increase for our starting salary for beginning teachers. It was good news for Argos. Argos has the funds to do this and we want to make sure our professional teachers are paid competitive wages. The board approved that unanimously and the Teachers Association approved it.”
The board also approved contracts for the principals which was comparable to the increase the teachers received.
“There is additional compensation for the principals and our Classified staff all got a raise – bus drivers, cooks, maintenance personnel, aides, and secretaries. Basically, everyone in the school district got a pay increase,” said Speicher.
The Classified staff will receive different increases depending on hourly rates.
Speicher clarified that the superintendent did not receive an adjustment in pay as his contract is separately negotiated.
