The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety heard an update on a demolition order at 2220 Lake Avenue during their recent meeting.
Building Commissioner Dennis Manuwal, Jr. said the property is currently in the process of being sold. He asked the board members to extend the order 60 days from the date of closing.
The current owner was in the process of clearing out the interior of the structure in order to comply with the order with the deadline being November 1. Now that the property is being sold, Manuwal said the new owners should be offered a 60 day notice to make substantial progress in making repairs to the property.
New potential owner Geo Folkers said there is a purchase agreement and it has been signed. Mayor Robert Listenberger said it appears that progress seems to be on the right track and did not have a problem with the recommendation to extend the demolition order 60 days.
The board agreed and unanimously approved a motion to extend the order.
