The Town of Culver has scheduled regular maintenance of hydrant flushing and the plans for picking up leaves.
The Culver Utility Department will flush fire hydrants the week of October 21. Flushing fire hydrants gets rid of sediment from the water lines and allow for better water flow. During the process, the water may appear discolored. Let the faucet run for a few minutes until the water is clear.
Starting at the end of October, the Street/Utilities Department will pick up piles of leaves raked to the curb. Place leaf piles as close to the road as possible, but do not place them in the road. The truck used to pick up the leaves has a vacuum hose and it only extends so far so if there is a line of remaining leaves, they were outside of the arm’s reach. Place branches and sticks in a separate pile so they do not clog the vacuum.
