Kokomo Woman Arrested for Operating While Intoxicated

A Kokomo woman was arrested Friday, October 11 at 1:45 a.m. ET after a Plymouth Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive.

The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Danielle M. Nelson, was reportedly driving in excess of 75 mph in a posted 50 mph zone. During the traffic stop, the officer suspected that Nelson was impaired and performed field sobriety testing as well as a chemical test. Nelson’s blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit, according to the report. She was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was booked on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering, and operating while intoxicated over .15.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
