The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch for Marshall, Starke and Pulaski Counties for Tuesday, October 29.
There are predicted record warm temperatures, low relative humidity, strong gusty winds, and very dry topsoil which results in an increased risk for field fires
Officials are asking residents to avoid outdoor burning.
Marshall County, Starke County and Pulaski County have specific county burn bans which prohibit burning except for grilling purposes in a propane grill or a grill that has charcoal briquettes, or small campfires which should be attended. Any burning of vegetation, trash, or debris is prohibited.
Complaints of fires may be directed to the county Sheriff’s Department.
