Traffic Accident Claims Life of Argos Woman

A traffic accident claimed the life of an Argos woman Tuesday, September 10.

Emergency responders were called to the area of Lincoln Highway in Marshall County east of King Road at 6:16 p.m. ET. According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, 46-year-old Franco Milan was traveling west on Lincoln Highway in a Ford F250 when the vehicle crossed the center line for unknown reasons. When the vehicle crossed the center line, it sideswiped a minivan that was traveling east and making an evasive maneuver toward the ditch to avoid being struck by Milan’s vehicle. Milan’s vehicle then struck a 2013 Ford Escape head-on in the eastbound lane. The Escape was driven by 20-year-old Aniesha Himes of Argos.

Milan’s vehicle came to rest facing south on Lincoln Highway before catching on fire. Milan was pinned in the vehicle. The fire was suppressed until the fire department was able to put out the fire and get Milan out of the truck. The front seat passenger was not injured. Milan was flown from the scene to a regional hospital for treatment.

Himes was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma at the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner Dean Byers..

The crash remains under investigation.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Fire, Plymouth EMS, Lutheran EMS, and Samaritan Helicopter.
