A man was arrested Thursday, September 19 after a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 31 and 17th Road.
The officer observed a sport bike motorcycle reportedly exceeding the posted speed limit. The officer caught up to the motorcycle at U.S. 31 and State Road 10 where they motorcycle turned west on State Road 10. Police say the driver, later identified as 18-year-old Austin Hedrick, was observed lifting the front of the motorcycle in to a wheel stand in the area of State Road 10 east of Lilac Road while still exceeding the posted speed limit, according to the report.
A traffic stop was conducted on State Road 10 at Mulberry Road where Hedrick was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of reckless driving.
Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
