Plymouth Police Department officers were dispatched to the Holiday Inn on North Michigan Street after receiving reports of an irate man in the front lobby Tuesday, September 24 at 2:15 a.m. ET.

When the initial officer arrived, the suspect was found near the main entrance and reportedly refused to follow orders. When the officer went to detain the suspect, he resisted and battered the officer, according to the report.

The man was taken into custody and identified as 42-year-old, James T. Myers III, of Lambertville, Michigan. Myers was transported to the hospital for jail clearance before being housed at the Marshall County Jail.

Myers is facing preliminary criminal charges of felony battery on a public safety official, misdemeanor resisting law enforcement, and misdemeanor public intoxication.

Formal charges will be determined by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office.
