Plymouth Man Injured in Crash

A Plymouth man was injured in an accident Tuesday, September 3 just before 7:30 p.m. ET.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, a report of a single-vehicle accident was reported in the area of Muckshaw Road and 14C Road. The vehicle was in a ditch with a man bleeding from the head.

Upon arrival of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, and Argos EMS and Fire emergency personnel, they located 39-year-old Matthew J. Middaugh, of Plymouth, and he reportedly told officers that that due to the glare from the sun, he did not see the stop sign while driving westbound on 14C Road just east of Muckshaw Road. He continued through the intersection and the vehicle proceeded into a steep ditch where it came to rest. As a result, Middaugh struck his head on the windshield, causing a severe laceration to his forehead among other possible injuries, according to the report.

He was transported to a regional hospital for treatment. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
